Dr. Nakumbe holds a PhD in Cognitive Psychology and is licensed in the State of Minnesota as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC). His work integrates behavioral science, neuroscience, executive functioning, trauma-informed intervention, and relational systems to help individuals, couples, and professionals navigate complex behavioral challenges.

He is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor with advanced training in Interpersonal Neurobiology, Complex Trauma Resolution, EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral interventions.

Dr. Nakumbe holds specialized certifications in forensic counseling, clinical forensic neuroscience, ADHD and executive functioning, problematic sexual behavior treatment, mindfulness-informed practice, crisis intervention, recovery coaching, and behavioral risk assessment. His clinical and consultative experience spans outpatient behavioral health, addiction treatment, forensic settings, crisis response systems, corrections, professional supervision, and high-conflict relational environments.

As Founder of the Anchor Behavioral Intervention Institute, Dr. Nakumbe's work focuses on identifying and interrupting entrenched behavioral patterns that persist despite insight, motivation, or previous intervention.
